Pre-serial Porsche Cayman GT4 2020 is almost ready for the premiereMay 13, 2019
Some news portals have published pictures, which captured the prototype of a high-performance Porsche Cayman GT4. The car passes a series of development tests on the Nürburgogring race track. The novelty will be shown at the festival of speed in Goodwood (July of this year).
Last week, a test prototype of the new Porsche Cayman GT4 was spotted on the Nürburgring race track. The car passed high-speed tests. Compared with the previous “spy” pictures, the “charged” sports coupe already had a significantly smaller amount of camouflage film.
Those shots of the long-awaited novelty, which appeared in our editorial office a couple of minutes ago, demonstrate almost ready for production Cayman GT4. The Porsche nameplate in the back of the car is now clearly visible. Thanks to this photo, we can already understand what the Cayman 2020 model year will look like.
The Cayman GT4 will be offered with a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that will produce 420 horsepower.
All torque will be transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, although a dual-clutch gearbox will also be offered, but closer to the end of 2020.
To “lose” about 50 kg, the new Cayman may have thinner glass and get rid of unnecessary elements in the cabin. Weight loss, of course, will improve the dynamic characteristics of the machine.
It is assumed that the new Cayman GT4 will be presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July this year. It has not yet been confirmed whether the Boxster Spyder will also be shown. There is no doubt that closer to the official presentation, the press service of Porsche will publish all the necessary information about its new products.
