Porsche will send in repair a third of all hypercar 918 SpyderMay 8, 2018
Porsche will recall a third of all 918 Spyder hybrid supercars in the US (305 and 918 copies) due to a malfunction in the suspension. This is reported by the press service of the German brand.
Cars will be sent for repairs in connection with the possibility of cracking of joints in the longitudinal and transverse levers of the multi-link suspension in connection with corrosion. The automaker will replace potentially defective items for more reliable and durable. The work will take from six to eight hours.
Super hybrid Porsche 918 Spyder, whose circulation was limited to 918 copies, was issued from 2013 to 2015. The structure of the power plant of the hypercar is 608-strong 4.6-liter eight-cylinder, two electric motors with a power of 156 and 129 forces, a set of lithium-ion batteries, as well as a seven-stage robotic gearbox with two clutches. The total output of the units is 887 horsepower.
The car is capable of accelerating from place to 100 km / h in 2.6 seconds, and its maximum speed is 345 km per hour. Porsche 918 Spyder for several years retained the title of the fastest production car of the “North Loop” Nurburgring. In 2013, Porsche test driver Marc Lieb drove a circle on the German track in 6 minutes and 57 seconds.
