Porsche will officially introduce Taycan Cross Turismo in 2020March 17, 2019
The regular version of the Taycan electric sedan will debute in September this year, and its off-road performance by Cross Turismo will show in 2020.
Last year, Porsche’s suppliers revealed important information regarding the off-road version of the fully electric Taycan model – the new product was named Taycan Cross Turismo. Then it was said that the electric car will be presented somewhere at the end of 2021.
However, the German mark, based in Stuttgart, seems to work harder and faster than expected. In its annual development report, it is reported that the Taycan Cross Turismo will debute in 2020, so the previous rumor can be considered to be refuted.
Apparently Porsche does everything possible when it comes to electrifying its lineup. Recall that the first, fully electric brand sedan, Taycan, will debut in September this year.
Well, the next generation of Macan’s compact crossover will also be equipped with an electric powerplant, making it the second model of Porsche with pure battery power.
By 2025, half the sales volume of Porsche is planned to consist of fully electric or plug-in hybrid models. Recent reports say the company is considering the possibility of electrifying the sports Boxster – this will be announced this year.
“The number of our employees has more than doubled in just seven years,” said Oliver Blum, chairman of Porsche AG. We create another 1,500 new seats for organizing the production of the Taycan sedan. Our first pure electric sports car marked the beginning of a new era, and we are very optimistic about the success of the electric version of the compact Taycan crossover. ”
