Porsche will launch the Cayenne coupeJune 8, 2018
The head of Porsche Oliver Blume approved the preparation for the production of the “five-door coupe” – a crossover with a falling roof based on the Cayenne model. This is reported by the British edition of Autocar.
Such a Cayenne will become an unbeatable competitor for coupe-crossovers like the BMW X6 or Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. According to Autocar, car sales will start in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Blum last year already mentioned the plans for his coupe-crossover. The car will be strongly unified with the basic Cayenne, and will be produced together with it at the factory in Leipzig.
The front part of the new model will be identical to the usual Cayenne – only the bumper design will differ. But behind the middle rack everything will change – others will be the rear doors, the tilt of the rear pillars and the tail lights. The source of the publication Autocar indicates that the profile of the car will resemble a second-generation Panamera liftback.
The new model will be positioned as more sporty, so that it will receive only the most powerful gasoline engines: the V6 2.9 with two 440-horsepower turbines and 550-hp V8 4.0 with two turbines. The model will not have any diesel.
