Porsche will force dealers to spend 300-400 thousand dollars for charging for electric carsOctober 16, 2018
On the eve of the first electric vehicle Porsche Taycan entering the American market, the concern “pleased” official dealers in the United States with the need to install charging stations at its own expense.
The German concern has already completely abandoned diesel cars, and all the money and effort freed was directed to electrifying the brand. Already by 2025 it is planned to produce up to 50% of “plug-in” hybrids or all-electric cars. The first electric car will be a model Taycan.
The company believes that dealers need to demonstrate a new electric car exclusively in a fully charged state, and they must also provide this service to their customers. “You will not have a second chance to make a first impression,” – said Robert de Stanislao, president of one of the Porsche of the Main Line dealerships.
Thus, official dealers will have to spend about $ 300,000 – $ 400,000 for fast charging systems that can replenish the capacity of Taycan batteries in 15-20 minutes.
The company is ready to help dealers in every possible way, and in parallel they will develop a charging network. In addition to the 200 dealerships, the company plans to install another 300 on roads in the USA.
