Porsche, together with the iNDTact start-up, has developed a system that allows early detection of problems with the car. It is a neural network based on artificial intelligence, capable of recognizing noises and vibrations, and also using any deviations from the norm to interpret the nature of the failure.
The system determines the vibrations of any moving parts of the car and is able to notice even minor changes in their work. It will become part of predictive maintenance, when maintenance intervals are not determined in advance, but are optimized by continuous monitoring of the state of assemblies and units.
In early February this year it was reported that Porsche will double investment in the electrification of the model range and the development of new technologies. In particular, we are talking about creating a charging infrastructure and “smart” electronic systems.
Neural networks are actively used, for example, in autopilots. In January, at the CES Consumer Electronics Show, the Russian company Cognitive Technologies unveiled Cognitive Smart Situation Capture, a road safety analysis and understanding system. Using a neural network, the module that makes decisions and predicts the development of the traffic situation, can independently learn.
