Porsche will build a research center in ItalyJanuary 30, 2020
The opening of the new facility is scheduled for next year. On its territory there will be a special track where visitors can test the best Porsche models.
Porsche has begun construction of a new research center on the Autodromo di Franciacorta racetrack (Francacorta circuit) in Italy. This infrastructure facility will be the eighth of its kind for the brand. Centers of this kind are successfully operating in Los Angeles, Leipzig, Silverstone, Atlanta, Le Mans, Shanghai and Hockenheimring. The plot area reaches 60 hectares, there will be a multifunctional building with an original curved roof and “airy” glass trim.
Under its roof there is a place for a restaurant, terrace and exhibition hall to demonstrate the products of the German automaker.
The central part of this large-scale project will be a small track with a length of 2.5 kilometers. On it, everyone can arrange a test drive for the best Porsche models. They also equip an off-road track, a race track and a special area for driving lessons. The company is confident that their new research center will be popular. It is planned to meet up to 20,000 visitors here annually. A special modeling laboratory will even appear here, where you can drive a car with virtual reality glasses. It is planned that the new research center will unite fans of the brand from all over Europe.
