Porsche tests hybrid 911March 7, 2020
German brand officials report that the car is being tested on public roads.
The German manufacturer of sports cars Porsche is in full swing developing a hybrid modification of the legendary 911. The first test sample has already been sent for testing. Rumors about a hybrid car modification have been around for several years, but now the information is officially confirmed by board member Michael Steiner in an interview with Auto Express reporters. In his interview, he noted that the platform of the car was adapted for the use of a hybrid power plant.
Experts agree that before entering the Porsche series, it will take at least 5 years, and you can buy such a machine in 2026.
However, specialists of the German brand may surprise and release it earlier. The main difficulty in the development was the preservation of the characteristics of the car – a prerequisite was the preservation of four seats in the cabin and the amount of luggage without a serious increase in the weight of the car. Therefore, the task was precisely to modernize the existing version, and not create a new one from scratch.
