Porsche Taycan Turbo got increased rangeJanuary 28, 2020
Initially, it was stated that the car can overcome 324 kilometers without recharging. However, during the test, this figure was much larger.
Foreign journalists got the opportunity to test the Porsche Taycan Turbo electric car in combat conditions. The main thing that they were going to check is the power reserve. Recall that the Environmental Protection Agency claimed a figure of 324 kilometers. However, the electric car was able to pleasantly surprise, showing the ability to drive 399 kilometers without recharging. The event was organized by Porsche – there were stops on the way near Electrify America charging stations. In total, the car covered 702 km of track.
Note that the calculation of the power reserve was made very carefully – the journalists constantly kept records about the state of the battery, the distance traveled and average speed. According to the results of observations, it was possible to calculate the number of kilometers per kilowatt hour. After the event, journalists shared their observations.
According to them, such indicators are possible if the electric car is used correctly – to keep up with the flow too much, and also not to perform sharp accelerations.
At the same time, the races were held in weather conditions, which are considered not the most suitable for electric cars. On the first day, the thermometer showed +4 and it was raining, and a day later the temperature dropped below zero.
