The serial electric car exceeded the most daring expectations of Porsche, having already collected 30 thousand orders in Europe.

The popularity of the Porsche Taycan among Europeans was a surprise even for the manufacturer itself. 30 thousand customers have already confirmed their desire to purchase an electric sedan. All of them made a prepayment of 2,500 euros. At the same time, Porsche CEO Oliver Blum admitted that the novelty exceeded their expectations. Taycan is already heading to dealerships of the German brand, while preparing to enter other world markets.

As a result, the waiting list for the Porsche Taycan may stretch for several years, since next year the brand planned to supply only 20,000 electric cars. In order to keep up with the growing demand, after 2020, the automaker can increase the production of new items at the plant in Stuttgart.

Competing with the same Tesla Model S, Taycan retains the recognizable Porsche DNA, which organically combines with the latest technology. The fastest version of the model, called the Turbo S, gets an electric power plant with a power output of 761 hp. and 1050 Nm of torque, as well as with the Overboost function enabled. Such a car picks up the first “hundred” in just 2.8 seconds, and acceleration to 200 km / h takes 9.8 seconds. The maximum speed here is electronically limited and reaches 260 km / h.

With a fully charged battery, the Taycan Turbo S can travel 412 kilometers. This result was obtained in the WLTP test cycle. It takes just over 22 minutes to charge a 93.4 kWh unit to 80 percent. Provided that the power of the charger is 270 kW.
