Porsche Taycan 4S showed excellent range in testsAugust 24, 2020
The all-electric German sedan was given a real test drive, comparing its performance with those of its main rivals. The high-end Ventus S1 evo 3 EV tires helped to push the electric car forward.
The foreign press shares the results of the latest tests of the Porsche Taycan 4S. In one of his latest tests, Bjorn Nyland tested a basic red electric car with a 93.4 kWh battery.
Such an instance was equipped with new, narrower and very efficient tires – Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 ev, as well as aerodynamic wheels. The tires, by the way, were created specifically for the Taycan.
According to the results of the test, the indicator of “range” of the test car surpassed those figures that were called according to the WLTP estimates: 386-463 km. It is noted that the electric car was lucky with the weather: the temperature for the races turned out to be optimal.
Now some statistics. At a speed of 90 km / h, the electric car demonstrated a cruising range of 579 kilometers. Energy consumption – 150 Wh, available energy consumption – 86.9 kWh.
Having increased the speed to 120 km / h, the Taycan 4S showed the following figures: a range of 425 km (with an increase in speed, the car lost more than 26% of its range), energy consumption 203 Wh, available energy intensity 86.1 kWh. If we compare these indicators with the Tesla Model S Long Range Raven, then the German electric car performed better. The power reserve was 11% higher in both categories.
We will remind, earlier the Porsche company has revealed the date of the public premiere of the updated Panamera. The restyled liftback will reveal all its cards at the end of August. Until this moment, the Germans decided to carefully hide all the details about their future novelty.
