Porsche talked about its new modelsMarch 22, 2019
After the presentation of the mid-size crossover Cayenne Coupe, which took place yesterday, the general director of the German Porsche Oliver Blum, spoke about future models of the company.
Earlier there were rumors that a new 3-door crossover might appear in the model range of the automaker. This is how Mr. Blum commented on this news: “No, such models are not part of our plan.”
Regarding the new Porsche Cayenne Coupe, the following was said: “We can go even further. We have some ideas about a more sporting trend, but so far I will not tell you anything, ” – he added as part of his interview.
Soon Porsche will enter the electric car market by launching a Taycan electric sedan and a Cross Turismo station wagon. The future electrification of the current brand lineup is already under consideration.
“We now have prototypes of the model 718, running on electricity, and its hybrid prototype is being created,” – Blum said.
It was also said that the all-electric version of the Porsche Cayenne crossover is being actively considered. The company’s current plan is to drive the electric crossover on a platform separate from the version with the internal combustion engine. It is possible that in the event of a positive decision regarding the Cayenne, the guys from Porsche may think about creating an environmentally friendly version of the compact Macan – according to insiders, the presentation of the latter may occur in 2021.
