New modifications to the coupe and roadster are able to accelerate to 100 kph in 4.5 seconds.
Porsche introduced new versions of the 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS models, the main feature of which was the new engine – this is a 4-liter 6-cylinder engine producing 400 hp. and combined with a six-speed “mechanics”. For the first time, this motor debuted in 2019 on the new Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder, however, on these models the engine produced 20 hp. more. The new power plant has adaptive shutdown systems for part of the cylinders and variable intake.
The arsenal of the coupe and roadster with a new engine under the hood includes the PSM stabilization system with a special sports mode, the Sport Chrono package with an improved Porsche Track Precision telemetry recording system, as well as traction control, a mechanical limited slip rear differential, etc. All this guarantees the driver an ideal car management.
Because of the 20-inch wheels, which it was decided to paint in black, the new 718 Boxster and Cayman “grew” by 0.8 inches. Newcomers also rely on large brake rotors (13.8 inches in front and 13 inches in the back), bright red six-piston calipers and carbon-ceramic brakes, which are offered for an extra charge.
When designing the exterior of the new products, the emphasis was on black decor: air intakes, a spoiler, as well as tinted “fog lights” and taillights. In the interior, with the finish of which Alcantara of a dark shade was used, sports seats and branded multimedia with a seven-inch touchscreen appeared.
In the home market, the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 and 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 will be available in March 2020. Prices for the coupe start from 81 926 euros, and for the roadster – from 83 949 euros
