Porsche on batteries will accelerate to 100 km/h like the BMW M5August 18, 2018
The brand confirmed the dynamic characteristics of the electric car
British office Porsche confirmed the dynamic characteristics of the first electric car brand – Taycan. The sports car can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, which puts it on the same level as the 808-hp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, 612-horsepower Mercedes-AMG E 63 S and 600-horsepower BMW M5. All of them reach the same level in 3.4 seconds.
Electric Porsche Taycan will be equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 600 horsepower. The maximum speed of the sports car will be 250 kilometers per hour. The power reserve is about 500 kilometers. Charging the battery up to 80 percent will take 15 minutes if you use a special “fast” charging station.
The harbinger of the serial electric car – the prototype Mission E – debuted in 2015. At the launch of the model in the series, the brand allocated 700 million euros. According to preliminary information, sales of Taycan will begin in 2020.
Previously, Porsche published photos of the assembly of pre-series Taycan. Also, the manufacturer released a mobile application with augmented reality. It allows you to explore the internal structure of the Mission E concept, and build a virtual copy of the electric car into the surrounding space.
