Porsche is testing the updated coupe 911June 23, 2018
The test prototype of the novelty is covered with only a small layer of camouflage. It is noteworthy that the engineers of Porsche began to test the next generation coupe 911 in the distant 2015. So far, there is no data on when the next generation of the German legend will be presented.
On those spyware photos that got to our editor a few hours ago, a prototype of the Porsche 911 coupe was stitched – as reported by our foreign colleagues, the car was seen on the legendary Nürburgring track. We want to say that the sports coupe looks almost ready for its official presentation.
If most automakers use a camouflage film with a variety of patterns, then to hide the appearance of their innovations, Porsche specialists decided to do it easier – they cover the desired part of the exterior with a black ribbon. I must say that the updated 911 looks a bit wider than the current version of the model. At the same time, the front part of the car seems smoother than now, and two new folds appeared on the hood.
Not changing the appearance of most of its models, the German brand Porsche did not change the exterior of the coupe 911 – from the side, the car looks almost the same as before.
The brand’s specialists covered the back of the test prototype with a black film, but this does not prevent us from seeing the tail lights made in the style of the new electric vehicle Taycan. It is curious that in the photos published two test samples of the new 911 are imprinted – one of them has round exhaust pipes, while the other one has trapezoidal ones.
It is known that as the base for the next generation of motor sport coupe 911 will be offered a 6-cylinder turbocharged engine. Porsche is also going to introduce at least one new hybrid version of the 911 – according to rumors, it will be two similar versions with different capacities.
The new generation 911 will be built on an updated version of the MMB platform, which uses more aluminum and high-strength steel. In the cabin will be a completely digital instrument panel.
Not so long ago, journalists of our automobile publication wrote about the fact that to work on electric cars Porsche attracts Croatian specialists.
