Porsche is experiencing a strange prototype of the updated crossover Cayenne CoupeApril 8, 2020
Journalists captured an unusual test sample of the updated German crossover Porsche Cayenne Coupe. It is possible that we are faced with a new, more powerful crossover design.
The model range of the mid-size crossover Porsche Cayenne is not as large as that of the sports coupe 911, but still it can no longer be called quite small. The prototype of the crossover in its usual version (not with a coupe), has already been seen on tests in an unknown version. Now we have spy shots from the tests of two prototypes of the Porsche Cayenne Coupe. Although the test cars look about the same as the current Cayenne Coupe, significant changes are noticeable in their rear.
At the moment, it’s difficult to determine exactly what version of the new product is in front of us, but as the photographers themselves suggest, this crossover performance can be called a kind of equivalent to the 911 GTS coupe, while others are sure that this is a completely new version of the model.
The newly developed exhaust system with double tips located close enough to each other is the main reason that there are rumors that we are faced with a crossover in the GTS version.
Interestingly, Porsche did not bother to remove the old exhaust pads mounted on the corners of the bumper, but you can easily see that they are “blocked” by pieces of plastic, that is, they are practically not connected to the real exhaust.
What if it’s still the future flagship version of the new Cayenne Coupe? It is assumed that Porsche is working on a new top-performance Panamera – code-named “Lion”, whose power will be 820 horsepower. It would be reasonable for the Cayenne crossover to get a similar version with such a powerful engine.
