The Porsche management gave the green light to the mass production project of the electric station wagon based on the Mission E Cross Turismo concept car. It is reported by the press service of the German mark.

The prototype Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo was shown in the spring of 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. Then the head of the automaker Oliver Blume, said that the novelty is an electric car, which gave off-road capabilities. Earlier appeared the first spy photos of the test car. It is assumed that the serial model will receive the prefix Sport Turismo in the name, which is used by Porsche to designate its cars with the body Shooting Brake.

The structure of the power plant will include two electric motors installed on the front and rear axles. The total return of the units, powered by a 800-volt architecture, will be at least 600 horsepower. The car can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds. Declared power reserve – 500 kilometers.

According to preliminary data, the Porsche electric wagon will appear in 2020 – after the Taycan liftback, which will be on the conveyor in 2019. The head of the Porsche electric line, Robert Meyer, said that the base Taycan would be cheaper than the Panamera model. Thus, the price of the base car will be approximately 80 thousand euros.

Electric cars will be launched at the Porsche plant in Zuffenhausen. The company noted that by 2022, six billion euros would be spent on electrifying the brand’s cars.
