Porsche Cayenne reveals new front end design in spy photos

German crossover Porsche Cayenne shows a massive front fascia. Auto experts are at a loss to guess whether this is a new design or just a cover for a diversion.

These spy shots were taken at a secret Porsche test facility in Germany. They give us an idea of what a mid-cycle Porsche Cayenne facelift might look like. The crossover is based on the MLB Volkswagen Group platform. The same architecture went to the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga SUVs.

The Cayenne prototype seen in tests featured a shorter front fascia. The front bumper with thinner headlights gets a rectangular profile. This was not the case on the current model. Is this a new design or just a cover? The stern of the car has been camouflaged more thoroughly, hinting at a more fundamental change.

Although the test mule was fitted with tail lights, we would not be surprised to see a new design reminiscent of the latest 911 models. The license plate niche has moved from the tailgate to a redesigned bumper. The salon did not get into the lens of the photo spies.

The new Cayenne is expected to have a redesigned center console and a new gear lever in the spirit of the current Porsche 911, codenamed 992.

An interesting detail – according to rumors, most of the tests of the new model were carried out in virtual reality. As for the market debut of the novelty, it should be expected only in a year. But the Germans can present the 2022 Cayenne by the end of 2021.

Earlier, new spy shots of the Mercedes EQS electric SUV were leaked online. And this time the spies managed to photograph the interior of the electric car.
