Porsche built a starship for a new episode of “Star Wars”December 13, 2019
The designers of the German brand worked for two months to create the concept of the star fighter Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter. According to the team, the model will be presented not only on the screen, but also as a 1.5-meter scale model.
One of the top managers at Style Porsche, Michael Mauer, is confident that his unit has done an excellent job. Designers tried to combine their own work style, Porsche’s proprietary design concept for cars, as well as a general idea of the starships of the future. The creators of the render are sure that in their work there are references to the style of the Porsche 911 and Taycan.
The front of the spacecraft resembles the new Taycan EV model with horizontally mounted clusters of headlights that are surrounded by prominent air intakes. Inside are low-rise sports seats modeled on the seats of the 918 Spyder supercar.
The starship, dubbed the Tri-Wing S-91 x Pegasus Starfighter, will be unveiled as a 1.5-meter model at the premiere of Star Wars: Skywalker Rise on December 16. Porsche will strive to emphasize the connection between the fictional aircraft and its new Taycan production model, showing them together at the premiere.
Unfortunately, Porsche and Lucasfilm do not disclose the terms of the partnership.
Meanwhile, the Porsche Taycan is breaking pre-order records. The serial electric car exceeded the most daring expectations of Porsche, having already collected 30 thousand orders in Europe.
