Porsche brought to the test a powerful 718 Cayman GT4May 6, 2020
There is no shortage of power options in the various Porsche lineups. It seems that the Cayman 718 range will be extended in the long run by an extremely extreme version.
Not only the 911 has a wide range of versions and options, the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster portfolios are also quite extensive. The latest addition to the 718 family is the GTS 4.0, a stocked version with a 4.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Both the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman should get a 420 hp GT4 variant. with GTS 4.0, but this option does not seem to remain the “king” of the 718 family for long.
At the Nurburgring, an impressive-looking sports car still covered in camouflage was seen, which looked like an even more powerful version of the 718 Cayman. The heavily modified coupe is generously equipped with holes and slots for cooling. Additional air intakes, among other things, are visible in the area of the rear side window.
Undoubtedly, the extra air that the Cayman draws in is used to properly ventilate the revised six-cylinder engine. It is not yet clear how powerful the new 718 Cayman GT4 will be. Do not be surprised if the six-cylinder compact coupe engine overcomes 450 hp. According to the publication autoweek.nl, more information about the upcoming top version of the 718 line will appear later this year.
