Porsche adapts its first electric car for winterJanuary 25, 2019
Became known new details about the serial electric Porsche Taycan, which will debut in 2019
New details have become known about the first serial electric car from Porsche – Taycan, which, among other things, will be prepared for operation in winter conditions. This is with reference to the head of the electrical program of the German brand Stefan Weckbach reports the publication Electrek.
At the moment, Porsche has received about three thousand orders for Taycan from Norway, which is one of the largest electric car markets in Europe. A “winter package” of options will be available for vehicles, including heating of all seats, a heated steering wheel, and a cabin heater.
Plus, it became known that the serial Porsche Taycan practically will not differ from the prototype of the Mission E, presented in 2016 at the Paris Motor Show. At the same time, a commercial electric car will receive standard rear doors instead of rear ones, and it will also get a slightly modified aerodynamic body kit.
Porsche Taycan will be on the conveyor at the end of 2019. It will be equipped with two electric motors (on the front and rear axle), similar to those used on the hybrid sport prototype Porsche 919 Hybrid. Engines, the total return of which will be 600 hp, will work together with the onboard 800-volt system.
The electric car will be able to accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds, and its power reserve will be about 500 kilometers without recharging. When using a special fast recharging system, 15 minutes will be enough for Taycan to travel up to 400 kilometers.
