Porsche 911 Targa brought to the test in the ArcticNovember 27, 2019
Porsche 911 Targa spotted during road trials in the Arctic – a very strange place to test a car with a removable roof.
Surely, not many owners of the Porsche 911 use the car in the cold, not to mention models with a removable roof. But, despite this, the manufacturer must be sure that all his models are ready for any weather conditions, for this reason the concept of the new 911 Targa is tested in the Arctic.
Before this period, Targa with a soft top was already caught by photo spies during the tests, but this is the first winter session. The upcoming novelty should acquire a four-wheel drive system, although the abundance of snow in the rear of the car, possibly indicates that the model will be equipped with rear-wheel drive.
According to insiders, the family of new items will include not just a model with a turbo engine, which is already in the Carrera line, but a separate highly efficient turbo version. If this is the case, the performance of the Targa will vary: from 379 hp. up to over 600 hp But to say something is probably too early, it’s enough to note that the Turbo Porsche will be very dynamic.
Due to the lack of camouflage on the test Porsche Targa, the exterior of the model no longer amazes us. However, some design details remain hidden. The exact timing of the official debut of the new model is still unknown, but this will not happen until the second half of next year.
