Polestar will put three new cars on the conveyor of a plant in ChinaOctober 27, 2020
We have already talked about the fact that Polestar will have a new plant in Chongqing, China. Now there is information about the first models to be produced at the Chengdu plant.
According to Autohome, three models based on the Volvo SPA2 platform will be assembled at the Chinese factory. While these cars are known under the factory indexes P519, P419 and 723K.
The P519 model will be its debut – an electrocross, which in serial performance will be called Polestar 3. The premiere of the novelty and its production are scheduled for next year. This electric car, according to the celestial media, will be equipped with electric motors, whose total output will reach 558 horsepower. The electric crossover P519 will be the first and will receive the name of Polestar 3 in the series. It should debut and enter the assembly line already in 2021. The battery crossover will accelerate to hundreds in four seconds. The announced cruising range is over 600 kilometers.
The 723K will go into trial production in early fall 2021. This is a more realistic version of the conceptual Precept. This novelty will be released into the series only in the spring of 2022.
In the meantime, work on a commercial version of the concept car continues. Recall that the public met the Precept concept in February this year. The automaker did not provide technical details. The only thing that the developers paid attention to was the solid wheelbase of the car (3.1 meters).
The third novelty, known as the P419, is the most mysterious. The media talk about her sparingly. Auto experts suggest that it will be similar to the P519, but the body will receive a coupe. The market name of the car is Polestar 4. The last announced novelty from Polestar will have to wait until 2022.
