The Swedish company Polestar is looking for new ways to sell vehicles, and a new initiative in this field is the exchange of the 600-horsepower Polestar 1 hybrid for works of art.

Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath shared that he loves the idea of allowing artists and collectors to purchase Polestar 1 in exchange for art – a special machine for the company. The company wanted to emphasize its exclusivity in some non-standard way. The hybrid is harvested by hand. The company will accept various works of art for exchange: paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, and more. All proposals will be personally considered by the Swedish collector and art consultant Theodor Dalenson. If he decides that any of them are interesting, then for a preliminary estimate of the price he will involve experts from the auction houses Sotheby’s and Philips. After a certain period of ownership, Polestar intends to sell these works of art and thus earn money.

The assembly of the Polestar 1 hybrid will be completed this year. However, before retiring, the Swedish brand’s halo car will receive a special, “farewell” variation, which will be limited to 25 pieces and painted in matte golden color. It is capable of spinning the front wheels, while the rear ones are powered by two electric motors, which are powered by a 34 kilowatt-hour battery. The total capacity of the Polestar plant is 609 liters. from. and 1000 Nm of torque. The two-door can reach the first 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds, and without starting the internal combustion engine it drives up to 124 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. The price tag is 155,000 euros.
