The Swedish brand has unveiled an exclusive version of its Polestar 1 hybrid sedan. The novelty, which will be sold in China, will be assembled in only 25 units and will begin production later this year.

The presented version of the car has a matte gold body, including badges. A gold color is also displayed on the brake calipers. Glossy black elements are present on the false radiator grille and in some parts of the lower panel. There are large black wheels in the wings.

The interior has gold stitching, and the seat belts are painted in the same shade.

In February 2021, Polestar announced that it was discontinuing the Polestar 1 hybrid model. This leaves the more popular Polestar 2 sedan as the company’s only product for now, but other models are on the way, such as the production version of the Precept concept.

The Polestar 1 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. This setup delivers 619 horsepower, enough to take the coupe from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds. The car can travel 83.69 km solely on electricity.

Polestar 1 prices started at $ 155,000.

The Polestar 2 is not a PHEV sports coupe, but an all-electric premium sedan that rivals the Tesla Model 3. The starter version of the car has two electric motors for a total of 408 horsepower. Its 78 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a range of 374.98 km. Pricing starts at $ 59,900.

Not so long ago, AutoTimesNews wrote that Polestar 2 electric cars are being recalled again due to engine shutdown. Due to defective software, the owners of these cars may experience loss of traction, which can occur while driving.
