Pirelli made tires for the most expensive car in the worldMarch 26, 2018
Pirelli has expanded the line of Collezione tires for vintage cars and has released new Stelvio Corsa tires. The novelty is designed for the most expensive car in the world – the Ferrari 250 GTO.
Stelvio Corsa tires are made in the style of the original Ferrari tires, but they use a new rubber compound. It provides better grip on the wet road and high wear resistance.
In the production of tires Pirelli used archive photos, original specifications and technologies from the world of auto racing. The tires are produced in the dimensions 215/70 R15 for the front and 225/70 R15 for the rear axle.
Tires called Stelvio were produced by Pirelli in the 1950s. They were installed on a formula car Ferrari 500, behind the wheel of which Alberto Askari twice became the world champion.
The Ferrari 250 GTO is one of the most expensive classic cars. In 2014, a model car in 1962 went under the hammer for $ 38 million. In 2016, the British company Talacrest put up for sale 250 GTO for a record 45 million pounds sterling (62.5 million dollars).
