Pickup Ram 1500 and large SUV Hyundai Palisade recognized as safe carsSeptember 14, 2019
The U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has published data on checking a full-size Ram 1500 pickup and a 7-seater Hyundai Palisade crossover. Both cars were included in the most “titled” Top Safety Pick + rating, thanks to frontal collision avoidance systems and adaptive LED headlights.
Specialists from the US Institute for Highway Safety Insurance (IIHS), who have been researching in the field of car safety for many years now, are testing how cars can protect their passengers in the event of various impacts.
As part of their recent study, the guys published an updated Top Safety Pick + rating, which included the American full-size Ram 1500 pickup, as well as the South Korean mid-size Hyundai Palisade crossover. However, there is one caveat, both cars will be able to provide the necessary level of security only if there are some additional options.
It is worth noting that the Ram 1500 is the first in its class pickup truck to receive the TSP + award in accordance with the latest IIHS test standards. To get such a high award, the pickup was helped by the frontal collision avoidance system, as well as adaptive LED headlights. The results are valid for pickups assembled after May 2019, as the previous IIHS test rated the earlier version of the model as bad due to the excessive brightness of the headlights.
Hyundai Palisade is a new crossover that seats up to eight people. Equipped with a standard frontal collision avoidance system and LED headlights (optional), the car also received the highest score.
