Pickup Peugeot Landtrek will not be sold in EuropeMarch 7, 2020
Earlier it became known that the car will not reach the North American market either.
Today, representatives of the French company Peugeot shared information on the sales geography of their new modern Landtrek pickup truck. The car will not be sold in the car markets of the USA and Europe. In the case of the American car market, this is due to high competition and the love of the public for local automakers. But in the case of Europe, the matter lies in the low demand for cars in such a body. By the way, the German Mercedes-Benz X-Class was sold for only three years, after which it was discontinued due to very low demand.
At the same time, Peugeot clearly understands in which countries there is a need for large cars. These primarily include South America, Africa and Australia. On the territory of these continents there are many rural areas and not very good roads, so pickups are always in demand there.
At the same time, the Peugeot Landtrek pickup truck was developed in close cooperation with the Chinese brand Changan and has a fairly budget price tag, which is an important factor in the markets of developing countries.
The engine range of the car is already known – it will consist of a 2.4-liter turbo engine with 210 hp. and diesel power unit with a capacity of 150 hp They will work together with a 6-speed manual transmission. Four-wheel drive is available at an additional cost.
