Pickup Nissan Navara received a 1000-horsepower engine from the Nissan GT-RMay 27, 2020
Essex-based SB Motorsport uses its engineering expertise to create the “best pickup in the world.”
SB Motorsport from Southend, Essex, is developing what it calls the “world’s best pickup truck,” in the form of a Nissan Navara with the base of the R35 Nissan GT-R. The pickup received a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6, an all-wheel drive system and chassis from Nissan’s flagship supercar, and the unit’s power will increase to about 1,000 hp.
The company plans to maintain “as much factory interior decoration as possible,” but preliminary images show that the so-called Navara-R will be easily distinguishable from its standard specification counterpart with a greatly reduced suspension, custom-made body kit, sports wheels and a noticeable rear wing.
Despite its wild appearance and powerful transmission, Navara-R will be completely legally operated on the road and will retain most of the standard characteristics of the original truck. It is hoped that it will be completed before the end of the year.
As a rule, SB Motorsport participates in 30 international motorsport events annually and also carries out small work with clients in the local community.
“This project has always been the focus of SB Motorsport, starting with our initial GT-R project. With the races currently on hold, this was the break we needed to revise the idea and implement it. We have the best partners, and they share our vision of creating another great tool that will challenge normal opportunities. It will be an exciting combination of performance and practicality, ”said team leader Steven Biaggioni.
