Pickup GMC Canyon got a powerful off-road versionJanuary 29, 2020
The new version of the mid-size pickup truck boasts all the necessary chips to overcome even the most difficult off-road. We are talking about the AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition – there is no data on prices and the timing of the start of sales.
Earlier this month, GMC introduced the off-road version of AT4 for its mid-size Canyon 2021 pickup model year. The truck received several cosmetic updates, as well as a suspension more prepared for off-road use. The variant of the car that received the designation AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition (ordinary AT4 in the photo) went completely unnoticed. In fact, this is a more hadcore performance of the same Canyon AT4.
Thanks to the foreign edition of GM Authority, we can already know some details about the more off-road pickup performance. Images of such a car and pricing information are still not available.
The AT4 Off-Road Performance Edition “package” adds several visual enhancements to distinguish it from the regular AT4 — glossy black aluminum rims, a more efficient exhaust system, and black badges to indicate that you have the AT4 version in front of you. It is also worth noting the plate that protects the front and middle parts of the car, the protection of the “rocker” for off-road. All-weather flooring will appear in the cabin.
The standard AT4 comes with 17-inch wheels fitted with 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires and four-wheel drive as standard. The off-road suspension is equipped with a lowering system, and an additional metal plate protects the transfer case. There is also an automatic rear differential lock
GMC Canyon AT4 2021 is equipped with a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine, which develops 308 horsepower (373 Nm). It is also possible to order a 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel that delivers 181 hp. (500 Nm). An 8- or 6-speed automatic is offered as a transmission.
