Kia Cerato GT

It took little more than two months from the day when information appeared about the development of a fast version of the Cerato GT. Finally, the pre-series prototype hit the objectives of the photo spyware, but it should be noted right away that this is the GT version of the K3 model – the twin Cerato on the South Korean market.

The photo of the novelty “merged” into the social network, after which it was uploaded to YouTube video hosting. Photographed a novelty on the roads of South Korea, and the lack of camouflage says, most likely, about the planned information leakage.[IP]&ua=[UA]&domain=[DOMAIN]&page=[PAGE]&secure=[SECURE]&language=[BROWSER_LANGUAGE]&bidfloor=[BIDFLOOR]&gdpr_consent=[GDPR_CONSENT]

One photo makes it difficult to draw conclusions about the appearance of the novelty. Nevertheless, it can be stated that from the standard version of K3 / Cerato, presented in January of this year, the rear part of the Cerato GT differs in the appearance of the diffuser and slightly widened exhaust nozzles. From what material the diffuser is made is not yet clear, but it is unlikely that it will work effectively on the car of this segment, although at its maximum speeds it can and will play a positive role.

Kia Cerato GT is built on the J5 platform, which it shares with cee’d and Hyundai Elantra. This means that most of the Cerato GT body will be made of high-strength steel, which is almost twice as stiff as the steel used for Cerato’s previous generation. Also, the novelty should “lose weight” by several tens of kilograms.

Under the hood, Cerato GT will have exactly the same turbocharged 4-cylinder T-GDi with a capacity of 1.6 liters and a yield of 201 horsepower, as on the Elantra GT. The motor will work with a two-clutches automatic transmission for seven speeds, and a classic six-speed manual transmission.

To compete Cerato GT will be with the related Elantra GT, as well as with the “warmed up” Japanese classmates: Mazda 3 and Honda Civic Si.
