Photos of the new Geely sedan on the Volvo chassis hit the netJune 18, 2020
The Geely automaker is going to show a new production model based on the CMA architecture from Volvo (its name is not yet available).
The “leaked” photo from the Ministry of Industry of the PRC of a promising car on Thursday, June 18, was distributed by the local press. The design of the upcoming car will largely reproduce the conceptual model of the Preface, which was shown last year at the Shanghai auto show. It, in particular, resembles the updated Volvo S60 of the previous generation.
The upcoming serial sedan is, of course, simpler than a show car – there are window frames and middle pillars, but this is inevitable, since the car must meet the requirements for body rigidity, passive safety and so on. The novelty will also acquire traditional side mirrors instead of rear view cameras and door handles for natural grip instead of retractable ones.
The new sedan has a length of 4785 mm, a width of 1869 mm, a height of 1469 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2800 mm. The same size has a sedan Volvo S60.
According to assumptions, the car will be equipped with a 190-horsepower turbocharged “four” Volvo development with the JLH-4G20TD index. There is currently no data on the transmission. The release of a new model in China is expected in the third quarter of this year.
In addition, it recently became known that Geely offered its customers free antivirus processing of cars. This promotion will last until July 31 of this year.
