The company Ford has begun to test the extreme version of the pickup truck Ranger of a new generation called Raptor. Photographers managed to shoot a car while traveling on a truck. Pictures of the car were laid out by the publication of MotorTrend. In the photos, the car is hidden under camouflage, but right now it can be said that the pick up from the normal version will differ with wider wheel arches, larger wheel disks and another grille.
It is also expected that the extreme pickup will be equipped with a modernized suspension with special settings, off-road tires, more efficient braking mechanisms, and enhanced underbody protection.
According to the publication, Ford plans to present a new version of Raptor on February 7 this year. The premiere of the car will take place in Bangkok. The model will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Michigan. Sales of new items will start in the US market in late 2018.
The standard version of the pickup truck Ranger was presented at the Auto Show in Detroit. In the US the novelty will be on sale with a 2.3-liter petrol turbo engine with four cylinders. The unit works in conjunction with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The remaining technical characteristics of the car is kept secret. Earlier in the American market the car was offered only with diesel engines.
Earlier it became known that on the basis of the new Ranger will create next-generation Bronco SUV. At the moment it is known that the model, which will appear in 2020, will receive a 2.7-liter turbo unit V6 family EcoBoost with a capacity of about 325 horsepower.
