Peugeot will restore the legendary hot hatch 205 GTiOctober 19, 2020
As part of its 100th anniversary celebration, Peugeot will restore one of the famous 205 GTi hot hatches from the late 80s and 90s.
According to Autoblog, the project will demonstrate the capabilities of the in-house restoration department of the French brand.
The company shared pictures of the hot hatch, which is intended for restoration. It is worth saying that the history of the car is not reported. Initially, the 205 GTi was driven by a 1.6-liter unit, but the project will be based on a later version with a 132-horsepower 1.9-liter engine.
Judging by the photographs, the car is in almost normal condition and has not been subjected to later independent upgrades. But the restorers will at least have to repair the body, which is dented and in places covered with corrosion, and restore the interior.
All work is said to be carried out by Peugeot staff members using the resources of the classic car parts warehouse. As representatives of the company note, after the completion of the restoration, the Peugeot 205 GTi will become an exhibit of the factory museum.
In addition, the cost of the new Peugeot 3008 and 5008 crossovers has recently become known. It should be emphasized that sales of cars will start in the British market. Note that one of the modifications of the younger model will acquire a hybrid version.
