Peugeot will receive a new retro logoSeptember 4, 2020
It looks like Peugeot will be using the old logo or a retro version in the near future. That would mean the biggest design changes in decades.
The current Peugeot logo has been in use since the late 1990s. In fact, the Upright Lion has been in use since the 1950s. Until the early 1970s, this lion was in the shield, and below it was the brand name. A slightly different version, in which there was no whole lion, but only its head was used, was also in circulation for a long time.
The latest logo now seems to be returning to Peugeot. During testing of the new Peugeot 308, spotted by photo spies, this “new” logo was already on the steering wheel. By the way, such a logo has already been presented on the E-Legend concept, but now it has found its place in a production car Peugeot is not the first brand to change its logo.
Numerous brands including Volkswagen, BMW and Nissan have recently introduced new logos. Typically, more two-dimensional logos are chosen because they “perform better in this digital age.” That said, Peugeot seems to be banking on design from the past, though it shouldn’t be surprising if heavily simplified versions of the above logo find their way into the brand’s digital channels.
