Peugeot sports models get PSE badgeAugust 21, 2020
For a while, Peugeot has piqued fan curiosity with its announced sports label PSE. During a press presentation, the German media received new information according to which PSE could indeed replace the GTi.
The new Peugeot Sport Enigeered (PSE) will replace the historic GTi division in Peugeot’s portfolio, according to the German publication. At the same time, the iconic label will disappear in about forty years from the beginning of its existence. The French company came to this decision due to the changing demand for cars. PSE electrified models give a sporty look.
Peugeot first unveiled the three letters with the 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered Concept, a 400-horsepower hybrid model based on the Peugeot 508. Meanwhile, the concept model has never seen a final production product, although images of the production-ready version have already appeared on the web. This car will go on sale until early 2021, although this first PSE produces not 400, but “only” 370 hp.
Peugeot also claims this is not the only PSE model to arrive in the short term. Peugeot is busy developing other models, such as the all-electric PSE 208 and 2008, and the hybrid 308 and 3008 with PSE sauce. Earlier in an interview, CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said that GTI fans have nothing to worry about, but now it seems that this statement has been refuted.
