The press service of the French automaker published information about the new Landtrek truck. The novelty will receive four-wheel drive, as well as three body options to choose from and a load capacity of one ton. The machine will not be sold in Europe.
The French company introduced the new solid-toned pickup Landtrek, which was originally created for Latin America and Africa. The car is made in the same style of Peugeot design as all modern models of the automaker. The novelty will be available to customers in three different versions: a single cab, a double cab and a chassis cab. Peugeot says it will offer Landtrek in Workhorse and Multipurpose trim levels with a wide range of accessories available, both for professional use and for the needs of ordinary citizens. All versions of the novelty have a width of 1.92 meters, a length of 5.39 meters for a model with one cab and 5.33 meters for a configuration with a double cab.
Peugeot Landtrek prototypes have passed an impressive 2 million kilometers of tests on all types of surfaces and weather conditions.
The car is designed for a payload of up to 1.2 tons and a towing capacity of 3 tons. The model with a single cab and Workhorse version will be available without a rear bumper and, therefore, will have a 180-degree rear door, while in some versions the ground clearance can reach 235 mm.
Available in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations, the Landtrek pickup will be powered by a 210-liter 210-hp gasoline engine. (320 Nm), which will be transmitted to the wheels either with a six-speed Getrag manual gearbox or through a Punch automatic transmission with the same number of gears. There is also a 1.9-liter diesel engine with 150 hp. (350 Nm), which works exclusively with manual transmission and is available in 4×2 and 4×4 versions.
Peugeot Landtrek weighs up to 1950 kg in the form of a double cab with rear-wheel drive, regardless of the engine selected. A double cab 4×4 with manual transmission weighs 2,030 kg, while a version with a double cab, four-wheel drive and automatic weighs 2,060 kg.
Peugeot will sell Landtrek with a wide range of options, ranging from automatic dual-zone climate control, LED headlights and taillights to the ability to control trailer rotation. Up to four cameras will be available, including an off-road camera integrated in the rear view mirror on the passenger side. Security systems will include a descent control, six airbags, an ESP and a warning of lane departure. Unfortunately, Peugeot does not plan to sell Landtrek in Europe.
