Peugeot 508 will be a hybrid with a four-wheel driveJuly 20, 2018
The new version of Peugeot 508 will receive a hybrid powertrain from the DS 7 Crossback E-Tense crossover. The front wheels will be driven by a 1.6-liter turbocharger with a 48-volt starter generator, and rear electric motors. This is reported by Autocar.
According to preliminary information, the ICE’s turnout will be about 200 horsepower. Another 100 forces will be added by the electric motor installed. Transmission – an eight-speed automatic. Only on an electric train Peugeot 508 PHEV will be able to travel up to 50 kilometers.
The battery pack will be placed under the trunk floor. According to a Peugeot representative, this location was chosen at the initial stage of the development of the EMP2 platform, since it allows you to not reduce the volume of the luggage compartment. In the future, such a layout is used when constructing hybrid versions of crossover 3008 and 5008.
Peugeot 508 new generation debuted in February. The model replaced the platform, the first in the segment to receive a night vision system, an active suspension and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The range of engines of the Peugeot 508 consists of two 1,6 liter petrol turbochargers (180 and 225 hp), as well as four diesel 1.5 and 2.0 BlueHDi units with a capacity of 130, 160 and 180 horsepower.
