Owners of Porsche Taycan will be able to charge their cars free of charge for 3 yearsJanuary 29, 2019
The American division of the German automaker, Porsche, announced the signing of an agreement with Electrify America, which will allow owners of the company’s first electric car, Porsche Taycan, to charge their cars for free at Electrify America charging stations throughout America. This is stated in a press release by the automaker.
It is noted that over time, Porsche dealers in the US will install their own fast-charging stations and offer home-made “charging” to customers.
The cost of energy is reported to be taken into account in the total cost of the car, while the official price for the Taycan car manufacturer has not yet been made public.
Fast charging with power up to 350 kW, offered by the stations of both companies and the SSS connector, will allow the electric car to be charged in the 4 minutes to overcome the distance of 100 km.
“Together, Electrify America and the Porsche dealership network will provide national infrastructure for fast charging and deprive future owners of Taycan experiences. In addition, Porsche’s home-based charging technology will turn the customer’s garage into a full-fledged personal charging station,” – said Klaus Zellmer, executive director of the North American division of Porsche.
Owners of Porsche electric cars will receive 3 years of unlimited charge on the network Electrify America, which consists of more than 300 stations in 42 states, as well as 180 specialized areas and 17 areas near the metro. In addition, each of the 191 Porsche offices in the US until 2020 will install fast charging. In total, the total investments of automobile dealers in the infrastructure of the charging station network will amount to about $ 70 million.
Recall: Porsche Taycan is the first German car manufacturer electric car. It is equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of over 600 horsepower (440 kW), which allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds. The maximum capacity of the car is 500 km.
As it was reported, last fall, Porsche said it would completely abandon diesel cars and instead focus on electric cars and hybrids.
