Opel unveils Combo-e electric vanJanuary 20, 2021
Opel has unveiled an electric version of its smallest commercial vehicle. As expected, the Combo-e is equipped with many well-known technologies.
Earlier in January, Citroen unveiled an electric version of its smallest camper van, the ë-Berlingo Van, to the global public, and now Opel is bringing an electric version of the Combo van and its passenger modification Combo Life to the catwalk, the Combo-e.
In all cases, the Combo-e has a 50 kWh battery, which gives it a WLTP range of 275 kilometers regardless of the version chosen. Thanks to the 136 hp electric motor. and 260 Nm Combo-e accelerates to 100 km / h in 11.2 seconds. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 130 km / h. The battery can be charged up to 80% with a 100 kW fast charger in half an hour.
Opel supplies the electric Combo-e in two lengths. The initial 4.4-meter version has a 2.79-meter wheelbase and can – thanks to a clever hatch under the front seats – transport items up to 3.09 meters long. The carrying capacity of this model is 800 kilograms, the volume of cargo is from 3.3 to 3.8 cubic meters.
Opel’s lineup also includes the 4.75 meter Combo-e XL with a 2.98 meter wheelbase. This variant has a loading volume of 4.4 cubic meters and the same payload as the shorter Combo-e. The maximum towing weight of the short and long Combo-e is 750 kilograms.
According to the press service of Opel, the Combo-e electric vans will go on sale from European dealers in the fall of 2021. Prices will be announced ahead of market launch. By the way, Opel also makes electric versions of other vans. Later this year, Rüsselsheim will introduce the Vivaro-e and Movano-e models.
