At its stand in Frankfurt this year, Opel is demonstrating that the automotive future of the brand is replete with diversity.
The IAA is the place where the new Opel Corsa, Grandland X Hybrid and Astra are ideally tailored to customer needs.
“At the IAA, we demonstrate how the future of the car will become a reality. We focus on customers and their needs. Instead of pointing the way forward, we offer a full range of power plants – from innovative electric and hybrid to efficient ICEs. The new models are equipped with the latest technology and are already available for order, ”said Opel CEO Michael Löscheller during his speech.
The new Opel Corsa is available not only as a classic version with a traditional internal combustion engine, but for the first time in the form of an electric modification of the Corsa-e with a range of up to 330 km. In addition, Opel also introduced the brand’s first electric rally car, the Corsa-e Rally.
Opel’s next world premiere is the all-wheel drive Grandland X Hybrid4. The plug-in hybrid powerplant produces 300 hp. power and combines a gasoline 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and two electric motors. According to preliminary information, the WLTP 2 fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 1.4-1.3 liters per 100 kilometers.
Another newcomer to the group is the new generation Opel Astra. Thanks to its excellent aerodynamics, a completely new generation of engines and newly developed transmissions, Opel Astra sets the standards for efficiency and low emissions, and automatically gets to the top of the compact car class.
