In total, there were two sports cars Ferrari 375 America with a similar body type.

On January 22nd, RM Sotheby’s will auction a unique 1954 Ferrari 375 America coupe with panoramic rear glazing. For one of the two sports cars built in a similar body, they plan to gain $ 3.4 million.

The Ferrari 375 America was introduced in 1953. And in total, the company produced twelve such cars: 11 coupes and one convertible. Eight 375 America with a hardtop were built by engineers at the Pininfarina automotive studio. The design of the remaining four copies was developed by the famous Italian designer Alfredo Vignale. Moreover, of the three Vignale coupes (the fourth car was with an open top), only two received a futuristic body, like the instance put up for sale.

The Ferrari 375 America, built by Vignale, features an unusual rear panoramic glass that gives the sports car a fastback silhouette. In addition, the design of the rarest coupe is made in such a way that the passing belt line, outlining the lower edge of the glass, visually connects the front and rear fenders of the car into a single whole. The exterior of the model is supplemented with side air intakes and chrome grilles behind the front wheels.

The unique Ferrari in 1954 participated in two world exhibitions at once – in New York and Geneva. After that, the coupe was acquired by the famous collector Robert Wilk, who owned the car until his death, which occurred in 1970. Since then, 375 America has changed several owners, sometimes flickering in the collections of rare Ferarri. In 2011, the sports car underwent the last restoration at the moment, during which the car was returned to its original burgundy body color.

However, according to experts, Ferrari still needs a little restoration. There are dents and scratches on the car body, and the white leather interior is worn and cracked in places. Under the hood of the 375 America is an original 4.5-liter V12 with 340 horsepower. A four-stage “mechanics” works in tandem with the unit. At the upcoming auction, which will be held on January 22, they plan to gain $ 3.4 million for the exclusive coupe

In August last year in the United States put up for sale a rare two-seater Ferrari 275 GTB / 4 1967 with a mileage of 50,000 kilometers for three million dollars. In total, the Italian manufacturer has created 330 such models.
