A unique car put up for sale by the auction house Bonhams. Bidding will take place in France in early February.
One of the five copies of the Zagato Mostro coupe is going to sell February 6 in Paris at the auction of the auction house Bonhams. The car was created in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Maserati, and its appearance was designed in the spirit of the iconic sports car 450 S Coupé 1957. Recall that this model for the colossal power at that time was nicknamed “Il Mostro”. The car was created for the endurance race “24 hours of Le Mans” at the request of Sterling Moss. The coupe was built in a single copy, and its body was developed with an eye to a top speed of 320 km / h. The creators of the new coupe tried to repeat the aerodynamic characteristics of the original.
The modern Zagato Mostro Coupé was built on the basis of the MonoCell carbon fiber monocoque with a steel power cockpit frame and a rear subframe. An exhaust system, a suspension with push rods, a six-speed robotic gearbox and a fuel tank are attached to it.
The coupe is driven by a 4.7-liter V8 engine from the GranTurismo MC Stradale coupe, but its performance is kept secret. According to rumors, the engine produces about 460 hp.
The current copy of the Zagato Mostro Coupé put up for auction was ordered directly from an Italian company. Mileage cars is only a thousand kilometers. The coupe has never been registered, but for a fee it can be homologated for ordinary roads. Lot valued at 600-900 thousand euros
