On tests seen updated Mercedes E-Class in the back of a coupe and convertibleApril 8, 2020
The team of engineers of the German brand began testing the updated Mercedes E-Class coupe and cabriolet. In fact, this is the same Mercedes E-Class sedan, only with a slightly more stylish body.
Mercedes-Benz has already introduced the updated E-Class business sedan, and now, the company is preparing a version of the coupe and convertible. Since the carmaker’s factories are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, it’s not clear when all of the above items can go on sale, but we expect them to be available in regions like Europe before the end of the year.
At the moment, the engineers of the prestigious company have only taken care to cover the front and rear prototypes of the coupe / convertible of the updated Mercedes E-Class with camouflage film, and I must say that the disguise is minimal. The brand’s designers didn’t even think about fundamentally revising the design. The headlights look a bit sharper and some changes clearly await the front bumper.
At the rear of the cars there are revised lights, but in general, the design of the rear parts of the coupe and cabriolet Mercedes E-Class will not differ much from that in the Mercedes E-Class sedan.
Although the interior of German novelties is not captured in these pictures, there is no doubt that there will be the latest version of the Mercedes MBUX infotainment system, which includes a 12.3-inch screen in the center and a 12.3-inch dashboard.
It can be expected that the coupe and convertible will receive the same engines as the sedan version of the model. The E450 is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline-six “turbocharged” with EQ Boost soft-hybrid technology. Power is 362 horsepower (500 Nm). The plug-in hybrid version of the E350e boasts a power of 315 hp. (700 Nm). The E350 version will be available with a 255-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. (370 Nm).
