On tests seen “charged” crossover Hyundai Kona NApril 23, 2020
Some publications have published test photos of the prototype of the Hyundai Kona N high-performance crossover. The novelty should debut before the end of this year.
Hyundai Kona N is a more productive version of the compact South Korean crossover. These new photos show us how a prototype car passes high-speed tests on the Nurburgring racetrack. Compared to the previously seen test samples of the South Korean news, this car received a bit less camouflage throughout the body, but there is still a lot of it in order to make out the crossover design in detail.
The front mesh of the false radiator grille has a different style due to the use of larger holes, the same structure is used in the mesh of the air intake in the front bumper.
The car drives on wheels with widely spaced U-shaped spokes. There are red brake calipers. The rear roof spoiler seems to have become even larger. The rear bumper has a new shape, which includes cutouts for a pair of round large diameter branch pipes.
The “charged” crossover Kona N is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, whose power is about 275 horsepower. The engine works with an all-wheel drive system, and customers can choose between an eight-speed automatic or two-speed dual-clutch manual transmission.
A lesser ground clearance was also noticed, resulting in a car that looks like a traditional five-door hatchback.
Prior to the announcement of the coronavirus pandemic, it was reported that the start of mass production of Kona N will begin in July this year. The presentation of the crossover itself is likely to take place before the end of this year.
