Old Koenigsegg CCX supercar shows stunning dyno testsFebruary 19, 2020

More than 12 years have passed since the first instance of the Koenigsegg CCX supercar came off the assembly lines of the Swedish automaker. CCX was a very important car for the brand, as it had a new V8 engine that corresponded to the new and more stringent emission standards at that time.
Compared to current performance standards in the supercar segment, its peak power of 806 horsepower (920 Nm) may seem a little … insignificant, but trust us, the performance of this supercar is still admirable.
The guys from the Royalty Exotic Cars team from the YouTube channel of the same name got a rare opportunity to put the 2008 Koenigsegg CCX on the dynamometer stand to find out what the real power of its 4.7-liter V8 is today. By the way, this is the same dynamometer stand that tested the red Bugatti Veyron, about which we wrote recently. Actually, this may be the very first Swedish CCX dynamometer run filmed on camera, and this makes this moment a little more special.
The best number recorded by the supercar was 653 horsepower, which, given the approximately 15 percent power loss in the transmission, means that the engine still develops power of about 750 hp. With a vehicle weight of 1,360 kg, this gives the CCX an impressive power-to-weight ratio. According to experts who tested, the Swedish CCX can compete on equal terms with the heavier Veyron in a straight race.
The team is now exploring what improvements can be made for this Koenigsegg supercar to make it more powerful, and the first step seems to be to install a custom Ryft exhaust system. The engine uses two massive superchargers, which can probably be tuned to create a bit more pressure and help the V8 to generate more than 806 hp.
