Official images of the new Nissan Magnite crossover appearedJuly 2, 2020
The Japanese automaker is busy developing a new compact crossover. The brand shows off a new teaser for the newcomer.
Later this month, the Indian market will discover a completely new crossover developed by Nissan. The model, which, according to Indian media, will be called Magnite, will appear at a very favorable time. After the Terrano, Dacia Duster was discontinued with Nissan sauce, Nissan’s Indian range became quite “understandable”: currently the company offers only GT-R and Kicks in India.
It is expected that the new compact crossover will be more affordable model Kicks. It is worth noting that Kicks, which is sold in India, is located on the Dacia Duster B0 platform, and not on the Micra V platform, which uses the international version. According to preliminary information, the newcomer is based on the CMF-A platform, which Renault is already using for Kwid and the larger Triber.
You should not be surprised if Nissan installs under the hood of its newcomer the same modest 1.0-liter 72-horsepower three-cylinder engine that Renault uses in the two models mentioned. A 95-horsepower version of the same engine may also appear in the Magnite model.
In terms of design, the upcoming crossover seems to fit well with the rest of Nissan’s international family. The sample presented on this teaser has hard plastic edges of the wheel arches and a clearly huge grille framed by a chrome strip. The bumper has not only pronounced LED daytime running lights that appear to have been copied from the recently updated Datsun Redi-Go, but also features a multi-segment protective plate.
