Off-road Mitsubishi Xpander removed Toyota Avanza from its occupied spot
March 15, 2019It took only a year and a half to earn the title of best-selling segment of this Japanese model. Because of the rush for the new product, the brand management even had to increase the production capacity of the plant.
New cross-van Mitsubishi Xpander has already acquired more than one hundred thousand motorists. It took one and a half years to achieve such record figures for this car – that is how much time has passed since the start of sales. For comparison, the old winner of the title of the best car in the MPV segment – Toyota Avanza – for the same period of time can boast 73 thousand cars.
At first, the Mitsubishi plant, which produces the Mitsubishi Xpander, produced 100,000 cars a year, but six months ago it was decided to increase this figure to 120,000 copies. As it turned out, this amount of commodity cars is also not enough – the interest of buyers in the new product is clearly not going to subside.
It is known that the queue for the Japanese cross-van is already four months ahead. The most active model is purchased in ASEAN countries, and following last year’s results, Mitsubishi Xpander earned the right to be called the best-selling MPV in Indonesia. So, for this model in the local market are asked from 189 million Indonesian rupees.
Inside, the Mitsubishi Xpander has three rows of seats designed to carry seven people. The model is driven into motion by a 120-strong “aspirated” one and a half liters, paired up with a five-step manual or automatic transmission.
