German tuning studio Oettinger presented its program of improvements for hot-hatches Volkswagen Golf GTI.

At the meeting of the GTI fans in Austria on the shore of the W├Ârthersee lake, Golf projects represent not only Volkswagen. Oettinger, specializing in the upgrades of this brand’s models, brought back its fresh project, expressing their vision of the hardcore Golf GTI. Experience with the hatchback is available, for example, in 2015 the company introduced for him a package of 500R, raising the car’s power to 518 hp.

The first thing in the studio took up is a two-liter turbo four EA888, which at the stock GTI develops a power of 230 hp and 245 hp the top version of GTI Performance. Specialists Oettinger managed to bring the return of the engine to 355 hp and 470 Nm of torque, which made it even more powerful than the limited Clubport S, equipped with a 310-hp engine and wore the status of the fastest front-wheel-drive car at the Nurburgring.

The increased power positively influenced the dynamics of the hatchback, which began to accelerate the first 100 km/h in little more than 5 seconds, while the stock Golf GTI performs this exercise in 5.8 seconds.

In addition to the engine upgrade, Oettinger has developed an aggressive body kit for its tuning program, including a ventilated hood, front splitter, rear wing and diffuser. The tuned hatchback turned out to be 80 mm wider than the standard Golf GTI. The decoration of the stern hatch was a pair of massive exhaust pipes.

No tuning is considered complete without a set of exclusive wheels. In this case, the Golf GTI was put on 20-inch white wheels, “shod” in tires with a dimension of 275/25 R20. The car was also equipped with an adjustable suspension.

Recall, there in W├Ârthersee Volkswagen introduced a new version of hot hatch GTI, which received a prefix TCR.
