Non-standard Ford B-100 SUV for sale at auctionApril 13, 2020
On the trading floor, a classic Ford B-100 SUV of the 1975 model with huge doors is offered for purchase. Inside can accommodate up to 10 people.
What if we tell you that Ford built a three-door, three-row SUV based on full-size F-series trucks? Yes, the “blue oval” did this back in 1975, but this car was intended exclusively for the Mexican market.
This SUV, dubbed the Ford B-100, looks like a fancy car with one door on the driver’s side and two doors on the other – very similar to the solution in the Japanese Toyota FJ Cruiser SUV and the South Korean hatchback Hyundai Veloster.
What makes the B-100 SUV so special besides its fancy door configuration is the three rows of seats.
If you want to maximize the capacity of the cabin, the B-100 can accommodate up to 10 people inside – but, of course, you will not do this, since this will be contrary to the law (not all 10 will have seat belts).
Under the hood of the Ford B-100 is a V8 engine that transmits its power to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox.
Since the B-100 was not an official Ford model, it never made it to American car dealerships, making it a rare find. However, this 1975 Ford B-100 is currently being auctioned in California, USA for $ 12,000 at the time of this writing.
